We've just noticed that Merlin has a rash to his inner thigh, extending from the top of the inner area of his rear right leg to his genitals.

They are pink spots, spaced about 10cm apart and some appear to have a yellow-ish centre although apparently don't seem to be 'white-head' like?

Is this a hygiene problem, given the run of hot weather, or is it something more sinister?

Anyone experienced this before??

Ozzy had a similar rash last week that we put down to heat. We smothered it in Sudocrem and it went after 1 day or so.

Its normal - especaly in young hounds,

I cant remember what the vets call it, but have seen it in quite a few young dogs,
best is just to keep it clean, and they should go on there own accord.

seem to remember that there was an article about this in one of last months dog mags - will try to fish it out

We used to get something like this on our old lurcher after he was running through thistles or nettles same cure some antiseptic cream and it disappeared very soon afterwards

If it is nettle rash best cure is Piriton or Benadryl tabs (brand names) clears up stings and rashes in minutes... ..or at least the pain and irritation..
