Please everyone - be warned about your dogs drinking antifreeze. I have just lost 3 of my lurchers (today) after they drunk my next door neighbours antifreeze. Vet tried but counldn't save them. Obviously I am devestated and don't really want to say much more ATM. I am in shock and haven't grasped that I have no longer got 5 beautiful hounds but I still have my Murray mint and Smokey greyhound.

Oh my God Houndy, as soon as I saw the subject of the post my heart sank. How on earth were they able to get at it? it must have been left out without a lid on or something. That is the worst thing I have heard of this year so far, so so so sorry for you, it must have been horrendous.
There was a story in the national press a little while ago, about the woman who poisoned her husband and it has left him in a terrible way, blind and unable to do anything for himself.
So so sorry to hear of your news.

Thanks all - next door neighbour was draining the rad in his car and had left a bottle of antifreeze on the ground. Whether the wind or dogs knocked it over I don't know but the next thing I knew was my neighbour shouting to me that my dogs had lapped most of the antifreeze. My dogs loved my neighbour and had wandered through his open gate to say hello to hime. I knew antifreeze was dangerous to dogs (and cats I presume) and it tastes sweet so they like it.

A tragic accident that has left us devastated - it still hasn't hit me yet so please bear with me if I dont contribute much to the forum over the next few days.
