TOPIC: Blood donoring.

Blood donoring. 3 years, 3 months ago #6574

My d/hs gave blood yesterday, just wondered if anyone else donates? The pet blood bank comes to the kennels every 3 months and takes blood from the greyhounds, including my Dan,but this was the first time I'd let the girls.I thought they might freak on the table, but were good as gold, and enjoyed their treat afterwards. They both turned out to have the rarer negative type blood, which is the creme de la creme,so I will definately be doing it again. You can find out where there will be a blood drive in your area on the pet blood bank website,if you're interested.

Yes, saw that on your facebook profile, never heard of it, but thinking about it, they need blood like we do, thats brilliant, well done

I will deffo go on that website! I tried a few years ago but there weren't any facilities in our area but that might have changed.

I bet you feel really proud of your dogs

What a wonderful thing for your hounds to do Elsie Grey may be too young yet, but will definately think about it for later! Daisy May is too scared at vets after having lots of treatment, so she would find it all too stressful!

Brice is registered as a donor but has never been required. He is so laid back at the vets I am sure he would do fine if called upon.
