Although the sky opened and the roads were flooded in parts, we went coursing. When I arrived in the field I wondered if I would get out or get stuck there. The organisers had tea, coffee, soup and hot dogs. Cakes and mince pies were handed round in the afternoon. It stopped raining and the sun shone!!I think we all managed a win in the raffle as well. We had 6 deerhounds and one whippet. Merlot although he had a bye in the first round had a great time running after the bitch in his course, lure what lure!! It was Lilys first time at coursing having only a straight run before. The lure was either too slow or it kept breaking to start with, everytime it stopped Lily stopped and lay there ( I think she was waiting for her brother to pounce and play). Lily I was pleased to say ended up runner up in the final, the winner was Brodie owned by Roly & Owen Davies. The next meet will be in Reading in February I believe, but I will post details as soon as I know.
