At Lodge Park the club did have a Hog Roast, but from what I’ve heard, it was too much of a temptation for the dogs
There is now a fantastic buffet, organised by a club member and we all contribute food or drink (or both).
The Lodge Park thing is great as there is a 17th century grandstand (It was used for deer coursing and betting back then) and a lot of people dress in period costume.
At the BSFA (not BFSA as we put earlier) There are all breeds of sighthounds, from pocket rocket wippets to Afgans and we've even had a wolfhound. There are also trials where members run their lurchers.
As for more event, I know Sue in Scotland runs fantastic events every month (lots of information on here) and there are some other members who do their own thing.
Unfortunately, although called the British Sighthound Field Association, all the meetings are now held at Newbury. When it was first started by the Borzoi club (Borzoi Sighthound Field Association?) they did hold meetings all over. But over the years getting an area big enough and more importantly, safe enough to run the dogs, became harder and harder and so it camped to Newbury, where it stayed.
