Congratulations to Susan Trow who won the lure coarsing competition at the US breedshow.
The winning dog is the daughter of Dug (Leoch Fiddich) from Scotland owned by Carole Andrews and Wattie Milne and I think Dug's American sister was runner up!

I've got this info third hand so please if I've made a mistake no worries correcting me.

Here's Dug's other offspring Ronan (Cusidh Homecoming) and Rimmer (Cusidh Gaidhealtachd) getting in a bit of practice this week. However, I think Rimmer's actions could be classed as a disqualification!

Yep , Susan's female ( Atzberg Legacy or similar , bred in Austria - out of Fernhill Lantana and by Leoch Fiddich ) won the 1 coursing event at the US specialty and her young boy from New Zealand , Anatuil Rockwood Range , won the other coursing even held at this specialty - not bad !!! Seemt to eb the theme at those specialties now , last year bothlure curse trophies also went to 1 owner , won by 1 deerhound though , Witsend Wistful , who didn't attend this years specialty .

Ah, the age-old game of Bite That Deerhound's Bum. They never tire of it, do they.

Yes, many congratulations to Susan Trow and Anaitiuil Rockwood Range, breed in New Zealand by Maree Willetts. It does all sound very, very special to do so well with Rockwood in both the conformation classes and the coursing given that he was only just 16 mths old yesterday. My Twiggy (Anaitiuil Red Spur) and the rest of the litter have a lot to live up to. Given that Legacy has also done very well, I think that Susan must give her hounds every opertunity to show their potential.

Yes, Wist, MBIF FC Witsend Wistful SC, TT, JOR, FCh, CGC last year's winner of BOTH trials (and the first and only Bitch to do so) wasn't there this year. It was a 3,000 mile drive each way, just too far for us to attend. She did however win ANOTHER trophy... Wist was The SDCA's Versatility Deerhound of 2009!. She won 6 titles in various venues including 2 Field Championships so I am very proud of my young girl who is only 2 years old. Last weekend Wist was BOB both days at a show in Albuquerque and my Veteran girl Emily MBIF DC Tannochbrae's Feanor SC, CGC won a Veteran Hound Group 2 at the same show.
