Goodness, I forgot to remind y'all that we're running at Sue and Kevin's tomorrow. 10:30 for 11:00 am (and I'll get there as soon as I can!)

Oh no, have to take my mum (84) to the shops tomorrow. Hopefully, we will be able to get to 'The Bridge' next time.

It was sooo good last time. See ya soon folks - have a great time.

I suppose the weather had to break some time - we've had a good run of dry days, which ended midway through this afternoon. Despite a few qualms about running dogs on wet grass and the potential for disaster thereof, everything stayed on its feet and there were some exceedingly close runs. Rannoch Rose won the (15 dog) Deerhound stakes by a short head from his kennelmate Fluffy, who has really got the whole thing sussed now - she's fast and has a very long stride, just not quite long enough to keep up with Ran The Man. And Other Breeds (28) were topped by Zucco Whippet from Team Speedo, beating Bryn Fastpants and Charlie Whippet in a three dog final (the rain was really beginning to set in by this stage so rather than run semis including a bye, we went for the quick and dirty solution).

Runners of note were Murphy and Mara McAuslane (Deerhounds) and their pal the uncatchable Miss Daisy Greyhound, Big Tara the IW/Deerhound cross (sweetest thing on four legs), Hephaestus the Afghan Hound in his natty purple hoodie and Rufus the young and wildly enthusiastic Pharaoh Hound. Beanie and Biggles the Beagles were back with a bullet and Biggles blossomed today, beating Beanie both times - a first for him, if I'm not mistaken. Magic Rose (Standard Poodle) had her first official run today, against Bella Fastpants and thought the whole thing was hilarious - we must try her against Tilly the Lab x Poodle next time.

And Tulla, Clunie's young Deerhound, is getting the idea and improving with each run today - she ran with my Dileas and later in a bye with Rannoch and you could see her taking everything in and storing it up for future reference. And wee Dearg, the Deerhound Sid would like to take home, was the cuddliest thing on the field and all the way from the wilds of north, too.
It was good to see everyone again - we're becoming something of a community, thanks to the good offices of Team Rose, and that's just fine with me.

Thanks to team Rose for a fab day, a wee bit rain wasn't going to stop the finely oiled machine that is 'Rumbling at the Bridge'

Some very close races there today and a great deal of laughter.

Thanks for the write up Sid

Bella had a very good day and was given a winners welcome back at the crumblies complex.

Fala was on bestest behavour and really enjoyed her runs, although her tackle on Bryn as he was about to beat her, was a tad unsporting

Bryn blames his defeat on the numerous bee/wasp stings he has had to endure, thanks to the crazy Spanish dogs game of 'catch the zubby, pull off it's wings and get it really angry before leaving it in Bryns bed'

Congratulations to Zucco who ran like the wind, and after indulging in the same amount of cheating as the other finalists, got past the post first

Sheila is still looking for the lure not with her eyes but with her nose

Thank You to all that come and support the Lure Coursing without you all there would be no Rumbling going on at Fire Hill

Do you think you should remind Kevin that he doesn't like poodles?

Hi and thanks Team Rose for a great day yesterday.

Jura our lurcher baby seemed to sleep for the rest of the day - he so enjoyed meeting everyone and behaved really well. as for Tulla she thinks that she has found her vocation in life !! She was going about with a really superior attitude last night

Seriously it was a great day and we Clunie, Tulla, Cally and Jura had a great time. Even my mum's old dog Sweep loved it even if mum didn't let her race.

And the weather was kind too (at leat until we had to go as young Jamie wsa getting bored!)

Thanks again all and nice to see you again.

Paul's just this second posted his photos and a couple of videos from Sunday up on Sue and Kevin's blog. We're really pleased with them - the best yet. A much better course from a photography point of view!

We had a fantastic time. And yes Sid, Biggles really did blossom and beat his sis for the first time ever. Even more astonishing he managed to stay with the lure for the first half of his race with biscuit the whippet!!! He'd do well in a course with loads of sharp turns. We have no idea what got into him - he normally just runs to the home straight and lies in wait for the lure. I guess he's just really smart and does the bare minimum that he needs to do to get the lure!

OH my, those pix are fantastic

Thank you so much for posting them, I'm grinning like an idiot while watching them.

Bryn is pacing up and down trying to find where Kevin has hidden the lure machine
