Fundraising lure course and dog show 5th Sept, 1 year, 6 months ago #26653

Where
Rumbling Bridge, Kinross

When
5th September 2010

What For
Lurcherlink

Fun runs start at 11.00 and will be every 10mins.It's £5 to book a long run and £2.50 to book a short straight run. If you book a slot, you can decide who runs in it. Or you can pay £2.50 per dog as normal and take pot luck who you run with. A booked slot also means you know what time you are running, other entries will be placed on a waiting list and slotted in.

We will stop running at 13.00 and begin a fun dog show, two of Scotlands finest judges will be casting their very experienced eyes over the entries and as it's a charity event all bribes will be donated to the charity, so give generously Classes to be confirmed, but it's safe to say that the emphasis is on FUN. There are rosettes for 1st-6th and a trophy for the champion.

We hope to be running the lure again by 14.00ish (depending on how the dog show goes)

Tombola and refreshments available all day.

Kevin and Sue have kindly donated their services and a sponsor is covering costs, so let's hope we get a few folk there and gather a bit dosh

PM me if you want to book a slot, you can pay on the day, but if you don't turn up I'll be round to take your telly as compensation

Slots taken
11.00
11.10
11.30

Yay count us in! Let me think about what time we want Fly to run though!

May we bring collars and have a stall (for a fee of course!)?

Hi Sue, I am going to do my best to bring Grace to this,
She runs like the wind, and indeed has wind!!
I will overnight nearby at sterling with relatives, or camp??
be nice for you to see her, she is still a skinny bird though.
I had her at vets to test which came back all clear, so I am trying to be "relaxed " about it!
warm regards-
pat (olik)

Haha, well if we're bringing ponies... Mind, Fly is faster than mine anyway, so I don't think there would be any advantage in that for me!

Can you imagine the race though...dog chases lure..pony follows..dogs slows down to make turn..pony gains speed and carries on...dog turns after lure as it goes parallel to fence...pony goes straight on..jumps fence...dog turns into final straight...pony accelerates into the distance...dog brakes as the lure slows and stops...pony slows traffic on the main road...

Good..welcome to the asylum..

Re:Fundraising lure course and dog show 5th Sept, 1 year, 6 months ago #26698

All breeds welcome, especially pugs (better keep a close eye on your pug or Sue'll have it)

If HB is thinking of bringing one of his wild ponies in the hope he can make a few bob while kids break it in for him...forget it I've got one of those ponies at home and if anyone is gonna make a few bob it's the charity besides which, my wee pony is fat enough to double as a bouncy castle

And while we're on the subject of ponies, I've got a body protector (36"-38" chest) and jockey skull and body brush and curry comb looking for a good home. My favourite daughter decided she didn't need them any more, so they're up for grabs, although a donation to Anne's lurcherlink would be nice. Can bring to Rumbling Bridge.

Classes for the 'FUN' dog show

Veteran - Dog or bitch over 8yrs

Double Act - Dog and handler combination, accessories or full fancy dress encouraged.

Junior Handler - Wee peeps wi dugs (14 and under)

Handsome Hound - One for the boys

Beautiful Bitch - Girl dogs are judged but if handlers want to go all 'Ladies Day'
that's even better.

2nd Hand Rose - Rehomed or rescue dogs/bitches only.

Rosettes 1st-6th in each class, winner from each class goes in to the championship. Trophy for the champion.

Please remember this is a fun show, no huffing if you get nowt

The trophy is not worth pawning, so don't feel you've been done if you win it.

£1 per dog per entry

Judges decision if final (If you're brave enough to question the judges, you're on yer own. I wouldn't mess wi them)
