I received an email relating to the length of time before you are logged out of the site/forum..
I'm curious, is there a time limit on how much time you can be logged on when writing a post? I was just writing one which got a bit long, both in time and substance. When I clicked submit, I got. you must register or log in to post to this thread. Of course my post was lost. So that's why I'm curious. Is it something that can be fixed so that time is not a component of posting. I was confirming some research while doing the post that caused the time to lengthen.

I'm sure the this must have been a problem for other people too.
The session timeout is a security feature of the site and was set to 30 minutes. I have upped this to 90 minutes. I hope this is plenty, although I'm happy to reconsider. If you are halfway through a post and have to go out I suggest copying the text into word or notepad, in case you can't get back before the 90 minutes runs out.

Oh I should add its 90 minutes of inactivity, if you are actively using the site, clicking links etc then you won't be timed out. However if you spend 90 minutes typing, without clicking a link or button on the site this will be seen as inactivity. Thats just the way it is I'm afraid.

Thanks and please always let me know if you have problems using the site. I am always happy to try to make changes where I am able.

Thanks

Rob
