Hi, my name is Angela and I've just registered.
I live in Carmarthenshire, West Wales.
Originally 'started out' with working lurchers (all Deerhound crosses)then homed 3 ex racing 'Greys' and last year acquired my first Deerhound.....she is an absolute delight!!
Met some of you at the Breed Show, Dunblane a few weeks ago.

Someone was asking about the prints that were for sale at the Breed Show..... was it the 'stand' in the foyer close to the revolving doors? I'm sure they will be at some shows over the Summer - can put you in touch if you send me a private email...

Hi Angela, good of you to join the club. I also joined fairly recently, and I keep coming back to the site regularly. Perhaps it's addictive, or perhaps it's just because we all love this breed and like to share with like-minded people.

Hi Angela and welcome to the site I am Trish and live very close to you in Pembrokeshire (Pembroke Dock). I have Murray(1yo), Carys(6 months) Smokey greyhound (9) and our very recent addition Bonnie who is about 8-9 and has been with us just over a week! I also have 3 parrots so all in all quite a handful!
What is the breeding of your deerhound?

Hi Trish,

My Deerhound is by Wolfscastle Wood Melick, she's nearly 11 mths old and is amazing (well, I think so anyway).
She got two 3rd's at the Breed Show in Dunblane, Scotland and I'm very proud of her, needless to say!
I also have a retired racing 'Grey' (Lucy aka Lady Tee) who is 6 years old and is a lovely girl.
A JR also lives here (my daughter's) just to throw a 'spanner in the works'...lol

Hi Spot,
Thanks for the welcome!
What bitch is yours out of and how old?
As far as I know Wood Melick has sired two litters to date?

Murray is Wolfscastle Hela out of Terichiline Windrush and Gentom Legacy (Lana) - he was the 12/3/8 litter. Carys is Matahari Mouse out of Keri's Rinda (RIP) and Readwald Thor to Kilburn. Bonnie is - we dont know but he is beautiful nevertheless

Hi Cal and thanks for the welcome.

The ex-racers get such a tough time. My previous 2 Greys had both been 'dumped' at the roadside. The big lad on the motorway with broken ribs, mange and emaciated....I know what I'd like to do to those reponsible.....not 'printable' though!!!!!

My current Grey is a happy 6 year old girl (black with white tux) and my Deerhound adores her! So does the JR...especially when she's in season

Thats the problem to many are dumped at the wayside when they can no longer race thank god for the rescue sites.Sadie got on with every breed of dog she met but cats that was a totaly different matter, but when we met one on our many vists to the vets with her she couldnt care less.
