We recently lost our 2 dogs one of whom was a lurcher / deerhound cross. We attended an excellent coursing day in Kinross and would like to get a new Deerhound pup. We live in a rural location in Fife and are well aware of the commitment to owning a dog like this. We are looking for a pup to take anytime from this August onwards and would like the help of the community to find a breeder as we know they are few and far between. Definately liver shunt tested and ideally factor VII cleared as well. We are not in any hurry and would basically like to start the search for a pup from a breeder who has a litter coming up now or in the near future knowing the usual 14 week rearing time.

We would be looking for a professionally bred dog from a breeder who cares for their dogs and would keep interest in the long term.
Would be happy with dog or bitch. Any ideas, pointers, suggestions???

Sorry but we don't allow selling of dogs through the site, so you might not get the response you would like. We can't ensure that all the safeguards are met so we just have a no dog sales rule. Also you could contact the puppy co-ordinator at the UK deerhound club Sue Reynolds. She should be able to let you now of possibly litters in your area too.

Thanks for the response - will follow up your advise. As a first time user did not know of no sell rule. Will continue to look and view site regularly.

Cant remember exact date but was end of April- 25th??on a Sunday - met a lot of people who gave valuable advise and information for us to think about before deciding to proceed. The meet was actually at Rumbling Bridge and would recommend anyone thinking of a dog to go along as first port of call.
