welcome from Cornwall, how many hounds do you have?
I am on my third deerhound who is Dirk, 9 months and non stop mischevious energy, plus elderly lurcher Biddy who has had enough of puppies now. Thats a shame as I have a girl puppy on the way as it were, and should get her in the Autumn!

Hi and welcome - we hail from Pembrokehire, West Wales UK from Triha and Murray and Carys deerhounds

Thank you to everyone who sent a nice welcome message.

I live on a farm about 90 minutes east of Melbourne, Australia.

I have had deerhounds for 22 years and the answer I normally give when people ask me how many dogs I have is "Enough". But suffice to say that I have plenty of deerhounds and two kelpies. My oldest deerhound will be 12 this November and my youngest is 16 months old.

I breed very occasionally under the prefix 'Claidhembor'and I have been fortunate enough to see my dhs in wonderful homes across the globe.

I am also lucky to have a large property where my dogs can run free and this is my favourite part of the day when we all go for a wander around the farm, especially if we put up a fox or a hare.

I show less and less every year it seems- as Pam will testify- but I find that the preparation time and the waiting-around time negate any enthusiasm I ever had for dog showing. There is always something else I would rather be doing!!!

And with that, I am off to take everyone down to the creek for a run as it has stopped raining....

Sounds like Deerhound paradise round at yours.

I was so glad to have met you and your lovely dhs when we were in the UK. It was great when Pam imported Chas because I was able to sing the praises of your boy 'Yes Min' (sorry, can't remember his call name )and his sister of course.

I would love to use Chas over my Delphi but this might have to be a few years down the track as I have enough dhs to keep me busy right now.

I'm thrilled that Chas has been doing so well for Pam and Dave and carrying the Lyart genes forwards. He and Dileas (Yea Verily) and their evil old mother DownJess (Brackenford Dawn) are well and thriving and keeping the West Morham cats in order.

Bo is coming along very nicely. She is a pretty little minx with a bandit face. Her hair on her face is very pale with black panda eyes
