Thanks all for your welcome.
My first dogs were German Wirehaired Pointers. I got infected by my neighbour who was a hunter. In 1990 he had a very good female dog, whith which he decided to have a litter. One of them simply decided to move in next door. I had not had my own dog until then, but take regulary care on the neigbours wirehairs since 1974 where they moved in.
German wirehairs are strong dogs, if they run against your wall at full speed, you dont net a vet, but someone who can repair your wall. They are very energetic, and require endless excercise. I went to companion dog training with my first wirehair, and met an IW there.
I got fascinated by the IW, but also learned about the troubles they carry with them in life. I came to know about the somewhat smaller and healthier deerhound, but it took me 5 more yars to meet the first in real life. The situation was at a big dog show, where the hall had burned down a few days earlier, and a circus tent raised in place of the hall, so that the international show did not need to get moved. It was crowdy, and simply not e good situation to learn to know about the deerhound.
I went on with hunting dogs for some years, got myself a spinone who died far too young a month ago, hunting dogs are very affectionate too, and have a strong health. I decided never to have an Irish Wolfhound - 2 years later IW Happy moved in. Half a year later i rescued a borzoi.
They are all great friends. My German Wirehair is getting old, and I am on the look for a deerhound to take his place some day. It is my aim to maintain a dog family of 2-3 dogs. The day I get myself an avatar here, you will know that Ive got a deer
