Hi, my name is Angela, i'm Australian and i have Deerhounds ...hehehe.
Lots of Aussies, always good to see. I live in Sthn. NSW and breed Scottish Highland Ponies under the prefix Dungarron. After having Newfoundlands for many, many years, when i l lost my last bitch last year to a very aggressive lymphoma, i didn't think i could have another dog. After several months i was lonely for a canine, so i thought that i would offer to foster for our local all breeds rescue, offering a foster home for large & giant breeds if they ever got any in. Within the week i got the phone call to come get a Great Dane x Deerhound pup that had been dumped. He was adopted (by us, within the week ...i'm a useless fosterer!) Welcome Geordie. Within six weeks his Mum, a Deerhound, came and joined us too. Welcome Senga. We had a small pack again and i was smiling, and rather chuffed that my deer ponies now had traditional companions! Sighthounds are soooooo different to Newfies, but they still take up all of the couch, and seem to shed just as much hair ...
I'll probably not be a huge contributer as i really don't get out with the dogs much, but i like this forum already.
