Hello to All,
we are Pam and Dave Moffitt, we are English, emigrated to Australia in 1982.
We show ( a LOT.... ), breed a litter every 2 years or so and sometimes race them.
We have 4 Deerhounds, Vicky, Boy, Rose and Brae.
Brae is our new puppy, out of Vicky, she is 10 weeks old.
We also have a Whippet, non-showing, and an ex-racing Greyhound.
They all live in the house with us, no outside dogs here.
Our breed name is Jacobite ( well there is a surprise... )
Very apt for a Scottish dog, we thought.

Hello, welcome to the site, glad you found us! I'd be interested to hear how your shows work over there, I guess you have to do some serious travelling. We are getting quite a few Australian visitors, so I guess there are plenty of Deerhounds. Nice puppy by the way, would you like to enter the cutest puppy contest?!
Regards
Rob

Hello Rob,
yes, we can, and sometimes do go long distances to shows but mostly stick to shows near us, as we live in Melbourne that means we could go to 2 shows per weekend.
BTW a show that is 2 hours away is practically next door by Aussie standards......
and in USA they travel 2 or 3 days to some shows....
BTW thanks for suggesting I put my avatar in for cutest puppy, I will send the full-size pic to you as I can't remember how to reduce it, my avatar is VERY small and would look horrible blown up....

Best of luck with the forum, VERY good idea

Dave

Hi Dave
Sorry its took me a while to reply to your post. The site is keeping me really busy.
We don't have to travel too far here, but traffic in the UK can be unpredictable to say the least. It feels like a long way, I guess its just what you get used to. Showing on the west coast if you live on the east must be virtually impossible. I bet its difficult for the organisers when they have to pick a venue for a national show..

I'm glad you like the site. I'm pleased its starting to take off a bit now that people are using and enjoying it. I know that there is a bias in the information towards the UK, its not meant to be that way, its just that's the only material I can get. Eventually I hope the forum will become the core of the site. If you have any suggestions for content that might make the site more Australian friendly let me know.
All the best
Rob
