Hi,
Thought it was about time I stopped lurking and joined in! I have been looking through the site with the hope of adding a handsome, hairy hound to our clan. I have owned lurchers for a number of years, altough we now only have 1, lovely Mia, a saluki x whippet who adopted us about 9 months ago. I have always admired deerhounds and as Mia is seriously in need of some pointy dog company thought now might be the right time to take the plunge!
I might be a bit of a pest over the next few weks asking some questions about this lovely breed, and look forward to joining in on the forum!

Hello Hobbit and welcome
You can ask as many questions as you want and hopefully we can answer them for you.

Hi Sal

You'll get some really good, honest advice on here, there are some brilliant topics covered and some real DH experts on here!
I have only had my fella for 3 1/2 years so I will try and answer questions, but the hardy Deerhounders on here will be able to help you more!
Oh, and welcome to the forum!
Helen

Hello Hobbit, welcome to the site. Dont worry about asking questions. That is part of what the site is for and people on here are always happy to help.

You do know that once you get one Deerhound you will want another and another etc?

Only the best people are owned by Deerhounds

Hobbit Hello, please don't read any further on this web site because if you do it will get a hold on you and you will not be able to resist the magic pull of Scottish Deerhoundom. Once bitten it is futile to resist, all efforts to avoid the irresistible attraction of our beloved deeries will be for naught; you will be enraptured with this old and most treasured of breeds. Hi Hobbit and welcome to the forum. Lots of lovely people abd deerhounds to be found on here I have had my deerhound, Murray for 8 months now and he 10 months old and am very shortly going to be getting a 2nd one. Chilliwoman is right - once you have one you will very soon want another They are so addictive...
I look forward to reading all your questions and hopefully I will learn more too

Hiya Hobbit and welcome to the site. It's great to have so many people to turn to when
you need a question answered and problems sorted out. We are all really good at
solving each others problems and we are never backwards at coming forwards when it comes
to giving our opinions but we are all a very friendly lot so welcome to the self-help
group for Deerhound addicts.

Hi Hobbit and welcome. Hope that you enjoy this forum. I've only been owned by Clunie for a year, although we did have a deerhound x whippet for 7 years before hand and Allan and I have always admired deerhounds, but once you've got one you are hooked....
