Hi Folks

My name is Melanie Buckley of Fyrth Kennels in Canberra, Australia. I have shown dogs all my life (previously American Cocker Spaniels, German Shorthaired Pointers & just the one lovely Dobermann). I've had Deerhounds for nearly four years and they are THE breed for me! I lost my last old American Cocker in 2006 and now have 3 Deerhounds, Ch Bhealaich Gotta Luv Me "Scrappy", Ch Bhealaich Devil May Care "Bones" and Scrappy's daughter Anduril Ravenscraig "Raven" - big thanks to Chris Howard and Glenda Danger of Bhealaich Kennels and to Avril Stoffels of Anduril Kennels for my beautiful kids!

I never really had a chance against dog shows as my whole family shows. My Grandma still (at 70+) shows American Cockers, my Mum had English Cockers for 20 years before becoming involved in Jack Russell Terriers (and she's an All Breeds judge too). One sister has Bearded Collies and the other has Akitas and Pointers! No chance at all in avoiding shows!!!

If you're interested in the Australian dog show scene at all, a really good website to have a look at is www.dogzonline.com.au . Most dog show people in Australia have themselves listed on this site and it gives a lot of show results, etc (no personal interest, I just think the site is the one most used by dog show people in Australia).
