Google is a marvelous thing. A lovely man that I met at Crufts yesterday told me about the Newbury fun day. I thought rather than pester him on the phone for details I would google it and it lead me here.
I have a lively 16 month old Deerie called Loki (His dad was called Odin so it seemed fitting to continue the pantheon)
I also share my life with my wonderful Other Half (he's wonderful because he defragged my computer)and our six year old son, three cats, a few fish and a hive of bees.

Well that's me. I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi Tracy and family, welcome to the forum from County Durham.Sorry, newbury is too far from us,but please go,and hopefully meet new friends from this forum there.

Re:Another Newbie with another Loki 3 years, 2 months ago #8227

Hi Tracy, I live in Herts, J5 of the M1, I have a 3 yeard DH called Murphy and we will be going to Newbury..

Perhaps we should have some sort of signal that we are on this forum so we all know who everyone is!!!

Cat, fish, not sure about the bees though!

That sounds like fun. What had you got in mind? A carnation in the lapel or a rolled up newspaper? There could be a lot of confused people in Newbury next Saturday.

Is this forum quite new? I only ask because I regularly look up Deerhound stuff and it has never come up before.

Hi Tracy
Welcome to the site, you will meet loads of nice people and some really nice hounds. We have two Deerhounds, Callie (Lyart Yester) who is 3 and Fergal (Sorisdale MacManus) who is 13 months. We also have a cat, Marmalade. You should try to make the fun day, because as it says on the tin, IT'S FUN! And you get a chance to say hello.

That's a pity. I was working too initially but I've managed to swap it.

Hi Tracy, love your avatar picture! We're new also on the site and everyones been very welcoming - Storm and I are also hoping to make it to Newbury (no need for a badge, I'll be the one coming through the car park on the end of a lead at about 100 mph, full mud camo on my face as soon as Storm realises there's other DH's ahead!)

I'm fearing the same problem. Also if I let him off the lead for this racing am I ever going to get him back. His recall is quite good when we are out on our own but with all those other dogs around it will be non existent. Should be an interesting day.

Hi Tracy, welcome to the forum. Shame I can't get down to meet everyone at Newbury, but alas I'm busy that weekend, otherwise Macleod and I would be down there. Don't know if it's too far for you, but we're heading off up to Scotland for the weekend next month to have a go at the lure coursing and meet everyone up there.

Hi Tracy, welcome to the forum. You'll have great fun at Newbury. I am Alans better half.
We hope to be going to Newbury but it depends on how well under way the lambing is going.
Hope to see you all there.

Hi Sally. I hope you can make it to Newbury. I saw my first lambs of the year this week. Makes it feel like spring is here. The lambs round here are all due next week. Makes walking Loki difficult again.

CiCoch, Scotland is a bit far. We are in Leicestershire. I did live in Fife when I was a kid. Wherabouts are you?

It is a bit far , but we're loading our 5 dogs up and going up for a long weekend. We are driving up from North Wales.

Do you know,I'm daft,I never realised how big Wales is!!
We got Megan from Brackenland, near Aberystwyth,8hrs drive from here, and had to go twice, once for an interview, then again to collect her.Last year we holidayed with them, fantastic!!But I wanted to see Gower Peninsular, after watching Britains Best View.I was amazed it was another 2hours drive from Taryn's,Wales is massive!!!
But sooooo beautiful!!
