I'm sure if I have written this in the wrong place somebody can put me right, thanks.
We are Sandra and Harry Brownlie and are hoping to venture into the world of the Deerhound. We have already been in touch with a good breeder and may have a puppy sometime this year, all being well.If not this year, then we can wait,we are in no rush and will wait for the pup that is right for us.
We have a lot of collective experience with dogs and my husband in particular has a lot of experience with running dogs.We hope to show but if it so happens that we have a great pet only, then so be it.
We do own another breed or 'are owned by' I should say and that is the Boerboel.

Hi Sandra and Harry. I have one deerhound at present but we are toying with the idea of another. Has anyone told you you can't just have one. Apparently we have done well to last this long without getting another.

Hi Sandra and welcome. there's a Boerboel lives down the road from me - is he likely to be one of yours? I'm near Haddington and the dog belongs to a young couple - I've only met the husband, and I think he's from New Zealand. The dog in question is a lovely affable chap who reminds me so much of out old Boxer-Great Dane cross.

A Border terrier(orist),good one and very apt!!
We had terriers but I'm afraid it wasn't a good combo, they were wild to our normally placid Mastiffs!!

Spot on this forum named him that, after the amount of dogs he has had a go at, though took him Lure Coursing and he behaved like an angel, don't think anyone believed me!
Mmmnn, Terriers and Mastiffs, can see trouble there, the terriers never give in, I bet the mastiffs were calm with them and never hurt them though. I'm not a terrier person, but this little guy came into our lives (actually went to get my Mum one and hubby fell in love and wanted one too) and I absolutely adore him.

Hi Sandra and welcome to the forum, lovely to meet you. I hate to admit my ignorance, but what type of dog is a Boerboel, I don't think that we have any here in Australia. I would love to see some pics.
I hope you go to join all us DH owners and enjoy a wonderful breed.

It was wee Patterdales we had and one was ideal but hubby had to go and get another and THEN it was pandemonium, yes, the big dogs were wonderfully good with them,it was those two together that were the trouble, especially as we run all our dogs out at the same time, well except for pregnancies and seasons.

Pam,you have one of the best Boerboel breeders in the whole world in Australia. We actually have based our stock on his and brought in frozen semen from his dogs.Check out Ataraxia and we are Sandaharr.
Please excuse his lipstick, you just can't take boys anywhere!!!LOL
