I was wondering why some D/H's have black legs? I have seen photo's of them in the D/H newsletter. Is it due to age or breeding. Am just interested to kmow

It could be that they've been out on the hill. When we had coursing meetings on heather in Scotland, Deerhounds running through the heather stripped off the longer hairs from their legs.

We have dogs with exactly the same black legs over here and it often seems to go with very little facial firnishings.

Here , in Northamerica , they often strip the legs halfway up - this of course
" creates " black legs , too .
