TOPIC: Another question....

Another question.... 3 years ago #11211

I have seen photo's of a line of Deerhounds that look like they are 'strung together' with a lead. Is there a special kind of lead that ropes them all together or maybe I just need my eyes testing!

You can buy coupling leads for more than two dogs, i dont realy like them as there had to controal the dogs when useing one, but i do use a virsatility lead when walking two dogs, as you can still controal both dogs by getting hold of each part if needed.

Coupling links are about £5, the clip bit, the same as end of a dogs lead, then two more for each collar, so one lead, 2 dogs.
Can't really have one with a DH and a Border Terrier not unless one bit is extra long! that still wouldn't solve the fact that terrier gets under DH's legs!

Even with 2 leads our terrier gets under DH's legs, results pandemonium

It just about works with a deerhound and whippet, the worst bit is when he cocks the leg, Eris tends to keep on walking!!

Oh Robb, how right you are. 2 Deerhounds or 2 Border Terriers I could handle, but the extreme sizes of them both make uncomfortable walking, especially when BT sees a tree and literally goes underneath DH and in front of me to cock his leg! I do it with gritted teeth and because I can't leave him out, but love taking Murphy on his own!
But, it is Murphy's birthday today and he is feeling sorry for himself, after a big walk last night they came home and decided to carry on playing, don't know what happened but Murphy ripped his dew claw out, he thought he was dying, son was in panic because of all the blood, but a good soak in slat walter and we removed the bit hanging and he is ok today, it is sore though, so his trip to Skegness this weekend is cancelled, poor Murph.

Sorry to hear of Murphy's misfortune. They really do take it very badly if they get hurt.

Thats why i like useing the virsatility lead, as its ajustable, you can use it as one lead
or two.
