Hi all, I know it's shorts notice , i.e. tomorrow, but does anyone fancy going to the Tatton Park Country Show and meeting up. Apart from the fact that it's great show, "Lurcher World" are running Simulated Coursing for both Lurcher and Pet dogs.

I'll be there with Mac, to see if he will lower his standards and chase a plastic bag instead of a Bunny.

It sounds a great idea. Unfortunatly I'll not be able to make it -other committments visiting my mum etc. However I think that we should all, or as many as possible of us, meet up some where, some place etc. It would be good to see people that you've chatted to, but I guess that logistically it could be a nightmare to arrange.

I'm working all weekend so it's a no no from me too, but do let us know how you get on, and if your deerie lowers his standards to chase a plastic bag lol!!

Hi, Sorry, we are visiting the rels up in scotland at the moment. We went to a Lurcher World event a couple of years ago, loads of fun, I'd highly recomend it to anyone who is able to go.

Went to the show today, met up with Robb and Ben.

Here's Mac and Ben.

They both entered the Coursing, but I'm afraid they let the side down.
The organisers insisted on all dogs wearing muzzles. This completely threw Mac, and after a good quick start , he just couldn't cope and had to stop and try to get the damn muzzle off.

Ben had a good run and lasted a bit longer before the irritation got too much for him , and he stopped and pulled his muzzle off.

Shame really , I think they could have given a good account of themselves if muzzle hadn't phased them, but we had a good day and we met a few other Deerhound owners and lots of admirers (of the dogs)

Had a very enjoyable day meeting up with Steve and Mac at Tatton Park. I don't think the dogs take chasing an artificial lure as seriously as if it was a real live rabbit and the muxzles were certainly a distraction. We met up with several other Deerhounds and owners, we mentioned this site and they should be visiting shortly.
