Hi we took our two hounds along to our local dog show not really a big affair but a good one to start us off and we finished up with eight rosettes three for blue and five for brodie which included a second for brodie and a third for blue in the hound group .Brodie also got a third in the puppy group. They also got a second in the pair group.

So they're not just good runners, then? Well done, Team Farnorth and long live the dual purpose Deerhound.

Fantastic results Team Farnorth.

You won't be able to move around in your house before too long with all the rosettes your cracking pair will pick up.

The rest of the holiday was great we stopped of in Newton More where we met a fellow deerhound owner .We just happend to see her dog in her garden as we were driving past and stopped to speak and were amazed to be invited in for tea and cake, would owners of other breeds extend the same hospitality to strangers i think not, once again the welcome we have received has been amazing and gives back some belief in the human race or is it that all good humans are deerhound owners i wonder!!!!!

A similar thing happened to us when we were on holiday last year. We were in Hay-on-Wye trying to shelter from the rain and we met Jennifer from Chapeltower. She invited us in for tea too.

Yes it was she had three lovely dogs there that she had bred herself and as you say a lovely lady and very knowledgable and so willing to share that for the good of the breed as i have said it is so refreshing to find people that are willing to do that in this day and age where in some groups of people to even share a kind word is classed as some kind of weakness to be taken advantage of.I once again would like to thank everyone that we have met and that have been so nice to us since our introduction to deerhounds you all should be very proud of yourselves

I thought it must be. We don't see nearly enough of Ann these days, unfortunately.
