My favourite beach is in the John Muir Country Park near Dunbar. I took the dogs down there today and after DownJess had nipped out of the car; double-guessed which way we were going and got it wrong; and been found and collected, we crossed the salt marsh (squelch, squelch) and went down through the dunes to the foreshore. The tide was out and we walked for about a mile and a half along the beach in glorious sunshine and a slight breeze, watching the sea anglers, surfers and kayakers doing their thing, then round the headland, stopping to say hello to a rather handsome lurcher and his human and check out the birds, and back through the woods, hardly meeeting a soul thw whole way round. As I was crossing the car park, I met a lovely group of people with a whole bunch of rescue Greyhounds and a gorgeous Galgo and a medium size Podengo and stopped for a chat. They were just setting out and I was running out of legs, otherwise I'd have done the circuit again! However, I understand there's a Greyhound walk next Sunday at the John Muir - 11:00 am start. I'm planning to be there - anyone else coming?
