We had so much fun today I can hardly tell you. Sue and Kevin Rose (Gentiehun Deerhounds) have nearly thirty acres of fields at their disposal and have gone to considerable trouble to set up a lure coursing track. The view across to the hills is superb; the weather was glorious and the dogs loved it. Humans present were Sue and Kevin, their son Chris and his young friend who were on lure retrieval duty, Sue's neighbour and her little boy, who was entranced by the dogs, Ricky Bentley with Gillian and Jodie, who was dragooned into being card steward and line judge, Rod and Lucy Gillie and Marjory McKinnon and me. You weren't there: you missed yourselves. Come to the next meeting on 2nd November - details on the front page. Go on; you know you want to.
We had twelve Deerhounds present, so we ran a main stakes and first and second round losers. Winners were Sue and Kevin's Rannoch (G Tain) who beat my Tavish (Lyart Yes Minister) in the main stakes final; Marjory's Madam (Moireach Treshnish) who beat Sue and Kevin's Bella in the first round losers; and my Dileas (L Yea Verily) who beat Sue and Kevin's Mini (G Mia-May)in the second round losers. Honourable mentions to Rod's Frank (Dorrator er, I can't remember) and Ricky's Rogue (Brylach McL litter) who ran a blinder in the second round; Rod's Kilbourne Ruby Tuesday who woke up briefly, ran about twenty yards to show willing and went back to sleep again, and my infamous DownJess (Brackenford Dawn) who just doesn't get the point of lure coursing and nashed off to look for bunnies in the long grass instead. Such a good day; enormous thanks to Sue and Kevin and Chris for putting up with us. There will be photographs soon on Rogue's blog and possibly here and the club site as well. Have a look and see what you missed.

Hi Sid,

That sounds like such an excellent day. Would certainly like to see some action shots and some snooze shots of Kilbourne Ruby Tuesday. Hopefully, we'll be able to combine a trip north with one of the events eventually. Elise
