While you guys "up top" are freezing, us here "down under" are sweltering.

A forecast of 43 degrees celsius (that's 110 farenheit) meant an early morning trip to the beach today...

I talk to my daughter on Skype, in Perth, WA, she is all sun tanned and moaning about the heat and we put the laptop against the window and show her all our snow...I'd swap anyday. Not sure Murphy would tolerate the heat, our real hot summers tend to be about 28-30 and he flags in it, 43 would be his worst nightmare.

It certainly has been hot! Now we have heat and strong gusty winds with bushfires happening close but not directly threatening at this stage.
WE NEED RAIN!!!!!

Re:Hot Hot Hot 2 years, 4 months ago #18361

You need rain Brollachan? That's what I'm looking at now, which isn't unusual when you live in a west coast rainforest. Winter Olympics beginnng here in one month so we'll be needing a bit of snow on the mountains. My kid returns to Adelaide to begin 2nd year classes Feb 1st so always appreciate knowing what's up in the land of Oz. Great pics Nat. Nice morning dip for the pups.

Thanks Jeorg and Yoki. Today the temp has dropped and so have the winds thank goofness. There was a bushfire in a neighbouring district but no direct threat.
One thing about Tassie, it can be 40 one day and 12 the next. Go figure

Ironstone, I have definately crossed of Adelaide as a "to live" place. The summers there are horrendous with temps hovering 40+ on a regular basis. I hope your kid loves HOT weather
