Saw a 5 month pup on epupz today.

Looked nice but the thought of 3 deerhounds under the age of 15 months is a recipe for havoc!! I hope he gets a lovely new home he sounds like a real sweetie.

Are the pedigrees really the same ? Are the parents siblings? Mum seems quite old.

If you look again the parents are Stainlonan Jenni (born 2004) and Stainlonan Bandon (born 2004). They have the same sire, but very different mothers.

I think the format of the pedigrees is a little hard to read (the name of the actual dog is at the top of the page).

I find it unbelievable that a half sister and brother are bred. The tradition of marrying cousins, in the Pakistani community, is causing serious concern among medical professionals, due to the high incidence of genetic disorders, but this is ridiculously close. My advice is don't be a sucker, the cost in vet's bills is potentially ruinous, and the heartache of looking after a genetically unsound dog heartbreaking. Unless breeders stop this sort of thing our lovely hounds are going to go the way of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. If the dog buying public get wise enough, to ignore dogs like this, the practice will stop. Don't let the heart rule the head; let breeders take responsibility for what they have created.
