Some time in the future I would love to have my own Deerhound

So far the closest I've ever come to having a pedigree dog is my 2 lurchers. So I've got some serious research to do

Can anybody recommend a good book for a complete novice about the breed please

Thank you

'The Deerhound' by Juliette Cunliffe is good but to be honest I think that by reading relvant posts on here, you will get all the info you need

If you can get hold of a copy The Deerhound by Norah Hartley is very good.

And Kay Barrett's Living With Deerhounds is excellent. Try Amazon for a copy.

Hi Sherbert, the books are very good and give practical advice. Where abouts do you live? It's a good idea to try and meet up with some Deerhounds and their people, you will learn a lot about the breed that way. Also maybe attend some open shows in your area and chat to the Deerhound people, they are always very friendly and helpful too. Good luck
