From what ive read, a pound in south wales - i think it was,
thats all i know on were she came from wise, i do know however - she had a broken leg in about
7 places and problems with her pelvis, the leg had already set wrong, she was verry under weight and had pressure sores.

Have seen the zois, from what i can gather the owners health was in serious decline,
still dosent excuse the state they was in though.

No I'm not ]

Have had a long chat with the person who is fostering her though (Four Paws rescue is quite near me). This poor girl was in the pound and has a shattered pelvis and can olny walk a short distance as she also has muscle wastage. She is randomly incontinent. They think she was involved in a RTA and not treated so the fractures have healed all wrong. Vets have said they have not seen a fracture as bad as this and the dog surviving. She must have been in agony for a while She is on metacam ATM and is going to a specialist vet a week on Monday so they will have a better idea of what her rehab and future management plan will be. She is not chipped or tattoo'd so nothing is known about her background.

Poor little girl

This is terrible. Poor girl. What sort of life has she in front of her if she can't run around and enjoy life. I hope the vet has some answers to make her life a happier one

Oh, the poor little soul. How can people let their dogs live like that? Houndy, if you're staying in touch can you keep us posted, please?

It means Road Traffic Accident Jeorg. She must have been hit by a car and not had good veterinary care.

Hello MrsMc,

Thanks for your fast answer.

It is very sadly. The world is not good to the animals.

she will need metacam for life, hydrotherapy treatment and will never be able to run like deerhounds are supposed to - I never thought I would say this but maybe it would be better for her if she was PTS She is only young and if the quality of her life is going to be poor maybe it is the best solution. I just pray that I am wrong

Fingers crossed the specalist vet can come up with something and help her,
but i have to say i agree with you, if her quality of life is going to be poor,
it may be the best for her, you just have to look at the photos to see that her back legs are all wrong, she dosent seem to be able to stand correctly.

Poor baby, its not a dogs life. I hope she will know some happier times. How can people be so cruel, it makes me so !!###

Re:four paws rescue. 1 year, 11 months ago #25444

Very sad, her back end is very low, I suppose from the Pelvis problems, what a beautiful head and eye she has too. Lets hope this has a happy ending.

Have thought lots...but I have to agree..sometimes the best for the dog is to end the pain..hard as it is..

An update from the deerhounds foster carer.

Has had hydrotherapy and acupuncture now and physio exercises and will be reviewed after 3 weeks. May have analgesia changed. Not a huge improvement but no worse either
