great idea..can we submit more than one..it is so hard to pick just one? I find these dogs to photogenic..they seem to love the camera..now, if I could only a get photo..oh, yes..that would mean puppy would have to keep all 4 feet on the ground..at least 2 would be nice. Oh..and my arm proably shouldn't be in his mouth either..right Ah..the judge said..let him grow up..he's a boy..boys are like that. Deerhound boys..maybe. I wasn't prepared for that.

Actually..it is rather odd...I thought he was being naughty in the ring..til I realized late last night he did that only at the June show..not in April. It was about June/July that the vasculitis was diagnosed..so, i kind of think he was giving me a hint - maybe. Just like he did in august & sept. Maybe I should listen more.. to him. My poor arm was swollen and had marks from his mouth..he didn't bite or nibble, but because of the vasculitis...the blood vessels are collapsing and the lining of the vessels can weep...he only ever does it to my left arm...it is also the arm he sniffed alot before I had the surgery in sept. His breeder was telling me that she had one other dog who was gifted like him. He can even tell when my blood pressure drops..quite a talent. It'll be interesting when we start doing visits this winter at hospital. He'll be a real charmer. The borzoi were a real hit when I did it with them. So calm, so patient. Hope he does for them what he does for me.

Hi there Cassandra ,

I do hope , your arm will be fine again in no time . I do know , that Nick , his father , likes to hold Lynne's arm , too , when in the ring and all excited . She sais , this is something you might have to put up with , when you want a great ,
" flamboyant " showdog .... He is not aggressive by all means , just excited and happy.

All the best ,

Verena

Hi from Edmonton.Yes I've called Lynne on this the first time it happened she said Nick out grew it when he was 2.so I'm hoping that this May when our baby turns 2 I will be able to take him around the ring with some feet on the ground and my arm free.He is also the spitting image of Nick and has all the same quirky traits-like always wanting the top of his tail rubbed.

Hi there ,

too bad you live so far away . I live in Vernon , BC , with 4 dhs - one a halfsister to Zippo ( from Dancer's first litter ) and one a granddaughter of Dancer ( just 4.5 mths old ) . The other 2 are from Europe , Denmark and England to be precise . All 4 girls love the top of their tails rubbed , it always seemed to be a typical deerhound trait to me ..... Nick is great - does Zippo also sing in the car as Nick does/used to do ( even on 4 hour long drives .,all the way....) ?

Thank God he doesn't sing in the car but then he travels in his crate or garden shed as we say.Probably if he was free in the van he might. He sings when you rub his ears.Have you had oyher dogs from Lynne besides the two you have now

Hi Cassandra -

I heard Nick sing all night in his crate in the car at a specialty show a few years ago - the next night he slet happily in the cramped hotelroom .....Lynne said , she puts her opera music on really loud n the front when he starts singing , both musics can go together for hours . I do imagine , it is not a very nice blend. But perhaps he outgrew all this by now , the wonderful and beautiful boy.

I only have 1 from Lynne ( Mawu , Hollyrood Isadora Duncan , now 4 years ) , my youngest , Dancer's grand daughter was bred in Germany from " Hollyrood Ginger Rogers " who went to my friend Danuta ( kennel Caoinlan ) and had a magnificent litter of 15 thriving pups . My very first dh tough , Mahak , who died this summer , came from Dorothy Carpenter ( kennel Dianras ) , who bred the same line as Lynne ,the 2 of them worked quite closely together . I met Lynne and her dogs somewhat over 13 years ago , having just freshly immigrated and going to a sanction match here - she had Kelpie and Jake with her - ever since then I visited her at least once a year. You can find my girls ( not yet the pup ) somewhere in the introduction section , a few pages back ( something with Canada - hello from Canada or so - is the title - I should post a few newer pics ) .

Hi Verena..
Lynn just sent us a pic of Nick in the vineyard - he looks just like his son..or the other way around I guess. Whe we first got Zippo..I'd call Lynn all the time with Zippy's cute antics..oh..he is just like his dad she'd say. Couldn't ask for more than that. Lynn says Zippo will be a better show dog at 2...let go of my arm hopefully by then. He is such a dreamboat...such a wonderful boy.
Thanks...
