Sat was the first time id been blackpool show in quite a while,
last time was the bad winds, that caused devastation,
the last time we was there passes were checked on entering,
this year was a different story.

Wish id have known before entering her NFC and just took her anyway,
i know its only 12 quid (well 15 if you count the carpark)- and we were provided with a bench - which we didnt bother useing, as just sat ring side, passes were never checked, alls they was bothered about is if you had the carpark pass, any dogs were allowed in, i dont begrudge people wanting to take their dogs in, but why get people to pay NFC - i took layla with me for the experance, its good scocalisation for her, as she gets to meet people and different breeds of dogs.

I wondered about that - my passes weren't checked either; entering or leaving. Not good security - anyone could have lifted a dog off a bench and walked off with it.

Not long after you left Sid - there was a ridgeback running loose round the grounds,
no one could catch it, it would have been quite easy for that dog to just go through
the entrance, and could have ended up anywere.

That's made me think twice now about benching Murph, I have often worried about it, but been to some good show's where security was tight, but have heard of dogs being taken from shows, sad.

Seems sat my dog was the only dog entered NFC .

i sent an email to the sec of blackpool dog show,
asking about a few things - i didnt give him any contact details,
but have just recived a phone call of him

seems its hear to stay - hes trying to expand the show
in order to include people who just want to take their pet out for the day,
carpark cost 10 quid, 2 quid to take your dog in,

I questioned him about the NFC and he just turned round and said
well you got extra benifits, of having a bench under tarpoline
and your name in the book

I asked him about security and that dogs could go missing,
he stated that it could happen anyway, even when they had checked passes
whos to say its the dog on the pass your taking out, he said the only way
they could make sure it was the correct dog, was to check microchips or tats,
and that could take days to do.

so it does mean if you want to take any of your other dogs with your for the day,
you can do so - just dont bother with the NFC lol

Chook, I am astonished at this. So what he's saying is that they don't give a toss about the people and their dogs who have paid to enter and the security of their dogs. They just want to make money. Sheesh!!!

What he said was security of the dog is down to the owner,
which is true realy,

i do think security could be a lot better in the place - but tbh is it any different
if you go to a little open show were anyone can walk in and out.

It isnt safe anywere now a days, last year at peterborough
someone attempted to brake in to a friends car, she had parked it near the lurcher racing tent,
as the dogs were in the car, it was being watched by a few people - even so they tried to get
at the dogs, luckley her collie can be verry protective and will kick off at anyone she dosent know, every year we go there for a fun weekend - we cant even go the loo's without having to take the dogs.
