TOPIC: The best man won

The best man won 1 year, 10 months ago #25979

The director made his choice and I had to agree with him, Rannoch is the 'John Lewis Dog' That boy is a natural on set. Cara and Bryn were delighted to let him take the gig, it was cold windy, raining with heavy downpours of fake snow and involved laying out exposed to the elements for hours

Roll on Christmas when the advert hits the TV

Sue is in it too, but you'll have to look very closely to see her

I don't suppose we'll see the advert out here, but maybe I'll be able to get hold of a copy.

But then who could resist Ran the Man? Although it's a tough call between him and Bryn.

Re:The best man won 1 year, 10 months ago #25998

No contest on the day. Rannoch stole the show. There must have been a thousand photos taken of the boy outside the (very scruffy and not at all Rannoch style) kennel. He looked so regal and is obviously used to the paperazzi mobbing him with flashes going like strobe lights.

Sue and I looked a right sight with the high winds giving us the 'through a hedge backward' look. I hate to think what we look like in the 'Making of the advert' film that was going on at the same time.

Wow, you'all and your Hollywood Hounds
Fingers crossed that this turns up on YouTube so someone can post it here. What are they advertising anyway, or are you allowed to say?

It's the Christmas advert for John Lewis

We can all smile at Christmas watching Rannoch get his Christam stocking

He didn't get the stocking, but he did get a large packet of cooked ham

Well done Rannoch! Look forward to seeing the advert - where was it filmed? Just off to John Lewis with daughter - do deerhound folks get a discount now?

Nice to know you care so much

Rannoch is now demanding his own rest area at the coursing and hopes the wraparound shades don't stop him spotting the lure That boy really is the master of cool

Next thing we know he'll be demanding Evian water instead of trough. And M&M's with all the blue ones taken out.

Well done to all involved...what did this particular work (I use the term loosely) consist of for the hairy divas...and their dogs..

Re:The best man won 1 year, 10 months ago #26078

Work consisted of Sue in kennel on hard floor out of the wind.

Rannoch laying on soft bedding with his bum in the kennel and the rest of his body outside looking majestic in the high winds.

Me dodging in and out between takes to protect the star from the high winds, feed him best ham, tell him how fantastic he looked, stop him falling asleep (must keep head up looking majestic)ensure he wasn't uncomfortable (no one cared about Sue )

Before shooting started Rannoch was fast asleep in the back of the car, while Sue and I scoffed chocolate

Rannoch also spent a great deal of time networking his way round cast and crew, introducing them to the 'presence' that is Deerhound.

Hello feldandjack,

Very interesting, I hope you can send a copy from the advertisement of youtube,
if this in TV is.

I have only BBC-International from the UK programs of my TV receiver .

Thanks for your efforts.

Oh no...no reply...must be true...all that chocolate scoffing and sheltering from the wind...whoops..was that you Rannoch?..

Re:The best man won 1 year, 10 months ago #26173

Sorry for late reply, got a housefull here just now.

Yes Rannoch did all the work, but like all superstars he needs many slaves to cater for his every need.
Showbiz is very fickle, right place right time and looking right is far more important that talent. The only effort required is putting up with the huge egos that go with film folk and I've got skin like a rhino and an easily zipped gob.
