TOPIC: Facewipe

Facewipe 3 years, 5 months ago #3215

Does anyone else feel that their main role is to be used as a facewipe? Everynight after feeding Bree comes up to me for a bit of loving. I always felt it was her way of thanking me for feeding her but how silly am I!!! All I am is a facewipe for her to clean her chops

Same here - as I do feed raw and am a vegetarian , this is not vey much appreciated by me ; especially when they have green tripe for dinner . They do not seem to wipe their faces/beards in the morning . So , I unr it into a session of cuddling if I manage.

Kudos for feeding Raw while being a Veggie ! I hope you don't mean just raw veg !
Must be hard to stomach. My wife struggles with Tripe also. Although I think it's just an excuse to get out of her turn to the feed the dogs !

Ben does it to me regularly after feed time. Comes up as if he's wanting some fuss then rubs his snout/mouth all over my clean trousers. These Deerhounds seem to have us all very well trained. lol.

I feed raw too and after their supper which is usually tripe, lamb. beef or chicken, Murray goes around all my leather sofas wiping his mouth and beard then uses me to finish off!

I've tried wiping his face and beard when he's finished eating but he still has to have his little ritual (bless... )

Oh these sweet deeries.....- very royal as always. First a facewipe and then a little - or big - burp - this tells you , they had a good and big enough meal.

I do not have so much difficulties feeding raw to my dogs ( about 4lbs/meat a day+veggies and stuff ) as I have watching humans eat meat - not even tripe grosses me out , only wiped on my tshirt or so is not so good .

Amber and Cara always wipe their faces on us after they have finished their meal.
I used to think they just wanted fuss but then sussed out what they were really doing.
Atiya, our Saluki lurcher always uses the throws on their sofa to clean her face.

Yep, Murphy does it too, we call it 'mushing'. "Are you mushing me Murphy?"
He also does it to take his Halti off, he mushes everything in sight, chairs, anything on top of the kitchen table, the terrier!

I thought he was saying thanks for his nice walk or thanks for his nice tea, ha ha, typical Deerhound, there is always a motive for a bit of loving!

Ain't that the truth

"I'll let you love me and rub my ears, but only if I wipe my face in your lap...OK?"
