Murray was 9 months old yesterday and he still squats when having a wee! I was wondering when he is going to start acting like a man (sorry - meant a big dog)

Anyone else had this problem?

Fergal is almost 11 months and still squats, although he is trying to lift his leg.

They will do it when they are ready. When you take them out where other dogs have weed, i:e tree, lamp post, they will soo cock their legs!

Murphy is 4 next May and still squats when it is cold and wet and he wants to get it over and done with and come back inside, only in the garden though, never when out, well, he couldn't let the other dogs in the neighbourhood seeing him wee like a puppy could he?

Generally speaking, the larger the breed, the longer it takes for males to lift their legs when urinating. A smaller breed of dog can hold their center of gravity much earlier than a large breed. No problem, just math.

Lockie started cocking his leg at around 8 months. Personally I wish he hadn't of started. I preferred him squatting on the grass rather than cocking on everything he comes to.
