This just to say a big big thanks to Daisymay aka Kerry. Without her help and support I do not know what I would have done. This is Merlots last 72 hours.. On Wednesday Merlot my whippet who I have owned since May was staying with a friend as my bitch Eris is in season. He managed to get himself into the front room and had chewed around the window and opened it. We do not know if he jumped out or fell but it was a three story high flat! He was taken to the vets and the main injury apart from a graze and a bruise was a compound fracture of his elbow. He has completly smashed it.How he is alive is beond me. He was referred to an orthopedic specialist who have tried to save his leg. With their skill pins and wires they have re-alined the bone and stablised the joint. Although he has bone deficit and loss of skin he has hopefully a workable joint. So fingers crossed, he still has a long way to go but it is a good start to recovery. But this is to say thanks again to Kerry, deerhound people rally round and are there for you.

Thinking positive thoughts for Merlot & you. I have not had any serious injuries with my dh yet, but my heart has been in my stomach a few times. All dogs do fill a big niche in our hearts don't they? I will hope that Merlot heals quickly and well.

Chris
Fingers crossed for Merlot. It's been a bit doom and gloom on here lately with these poor dog's. I hope he and you are ok

OMG, every one is asking! Been so busy this week with a baby and an injured sister in law, haven't had time to even think. One will follow on Facebook soon, promise!!

Not sure I like it now, it is sticking up a bit, think it might have been easier long!

Have seen the photos Helen, love the haircut!Very sophisticated!Talented photographer too.

Re:Wonderful Deerhound people 3 years, 4 months ago #4699

Its not what I wanted but as it is my neice who is the hairdresser, I think she aired on the side of caution as it was so long. Wanted more layers, but hey ho, it grows quick and then I can go for it next time.
Might make me look intelligent! Though a woman asked me if my baby nephew was my grandson the other day, could have smacked her one!!!
