They look like they are really enjoying themselves

Re:Playtime 3 years, 3 months ago #6739

I love the way one DH is sniffing the others bits and they oblige by lifting their back leg up! Typical DH, no manners, straight in there!

Also Brollochan, do you work for NASA? The size of that satelite dish in your garden!!!

Great pictures

Hi Sam, brilliant photos of the hounds. According to our news broadcast this pm, Terry has loads to look at The collision between two satelites seems to be concentrating the minds of the experts as to how mutch stuff is circulating around up there, umpteen thousand it seems, and they seem at last to have thought abt the effects of it all.

Gee Sam looking at Lockie and Xena's body language it is just like looking at our two playing. Taog goofs around play bowing, waving his huge paws about and trying to bite Aila's back legs to encourage her to chase him while she bides her time then goes straight for the throat! Must be genetic

Re:Playtime 3 years, 3 months ago #6839

Does Taog box her ears? Lockie's a pain for boxing Bree's head and she gets very stroppy.
You might all notice haow the girls gang up on him. He loves it and just bounces from one to the other as they both try to grapple him. They are all mental

Sure does and he also picks up one of his great paws and stomps on our poor little whippet cross and flattens her. When she is on the polished floorboards she ends up like one of those lion head rugs with two legs splayed out to either side

Poor Whippy. They are sods sometimes.

It is a good thing Charlottes 'Ells Bells is so nimble.

Sam fantastic pictures, I think they all love to play rough my Cailean too (the reason she plays only with like minded dogs)
I was staying at Fernhill Wed. the two 6 month old puppies Zephyr and Zita were running about looking like they were in a battle to the death. Cailean got very worried and ran after them trying to insert herself between and stop the fight. She would bark at one and then the other it was so funny as she was exactly the same with her sister.

Re:Playtime 3 years, 3 months ago #6945

She must have good maternal instincts stepping in to control the maniacs. Bree will get inbetween Lockie and Xena if Xena is getting a rough time. Nice to know they look out for each other...sometimes:)

Wish ours would synchronise their desire to play a bit better - either Taog is hassling Aila to play by biting her back leg and pouncing on her while she studiously ignores him or she wants to play and runs alongside him biting his ears at which point he goes into a major sulk and rushes back to "mummy" for protection!!

Occasionally they do get it right and have the most amazing zoomies round the paddocks but mostly either one wants to run and the other doesn't or the other way round.

Just had a great walk though - we have had 350 mm of rain this weekend and the paddocks are all underwater, the dams overflowing and everything wonderfully cool and wet. The deerhounds have been in their element - makes a great change from all the heat of summer when they remain steadfastly in doors under the airconditioner
