TOPIC: Help regarding my dogs coat

Help regarding my dogs coat 3 years, 10 months ago #689

I wonder if anyone can answer my question.
My Deerhound had a very fuzzy grey coat and last year I stripped it
out, as advised by others. It took forever to grow back (and forever to strip out!), but it has grown back white with black tips. I will post a photograph tomorrow so you can see what I mean.
It is nice and harsh and wiry, it is just he has a white parting along his spine. The rest of the coat is a nice grey/black colour.
He now resembles a badger. Does anyone have experience of this, if so, would stripping it out again make it grow back a decent colour?

Hi Helen, If his coat is now harsh I wouldn,t strip it out again especially as you are showing him and we are in the middle of the show season. Sally

I was thinking of doing it after 5/9/08 (Richmond) but still not sure if it will make
it grow back dark. Just wondered if anyone else had a dodgy doggy coat! and what they
would suggest, apart from a packet of hair dye!!
