When I got home from school, to MY HORROR Elsie Grey had been in the COAL BUCKET She had broken it all up in her bed and then LAID IN IT She also ate it and it was in her TEETH....what a state!! What a smile She is no longer grey but BLACK!!

I have tried to wipe it off with a wet flannel....it just smudged I dare not try and bath her or she will go all fluffy

I can't believe she has done this just before Crufts!!! Daisy May was looking very smug....and I just can't help thinking she put her up to it, as Daisy May has to stay at home....no Crufts for her

I just hope that I can clean her up....or the judge may think we have tried to dye her to look darker for the show.... we could get banned for cheating

I really do believe that Elsie Grey (AKA Elsie Black) is quite MAD

That is so funny, have you tried those doggy wipes? they are quite good, keep on brushing her...in the garden so the soot falls off.

Well done Elsie, that is so funny!!!

I am waiting for her to dry off a bit and will then try brushing it out! Elsie Grey has been sitting watching her bed go around in the washing machine She really is a horror Just worried the judge will get sooty hands

Just managed a full blown struggle to clean Elsie Grey's teeth.... they are now white again Still a bit sooty on the body & there was me worried about doing her ears!! At least they are nice and dark now

No pictures lol,

Try the unsented babywipes, there a god send,
we used to use them for the horses, especaly the day before a show,
as it gets out all the dust/dirt and other stuff.

Thanks Chook, have some upstairs, will try those. Was woried they might make the coal clog together
She is now laying on a nice clean bed and leaving dusty sooty marks on it
I was a bit too stressed with trying to clear it all up; but should have taken some pics....she looked very funny, all patchy and as for the teeth...it looked as if half of them were missing

Elsie Grey had some fun then...like Lurch said, keep brushing. She sure has good timing.

Ppheww..... Elsie Grey seems to be the right colour again now Let's hope she does not get up to any more mischief before Crufts tomorrow
Looking forward to seeing you all there.... I will have my 'Daisymay' label on my jacket so you can see who I am..... Or just look for the grubby hound

It's a good thing the judge has a tub of hand wipes on the table. I can't wait to see
the judges face when she looks at her hands:laugh: I hope we are not in the same class
as you but if we are don't stand next to me:ohmy: my dog's CLEAN:silly:

I have used a product called Biosilk Silk therapy human hair smoothing lotion on Cailean occasionally after a bath. Just rub on hands & stroke over fur. Gets rid of the fluffies immediately.
Too bad you got no pictures of the little devil. I can picture the frantic chaos trying to prevent blackening of all surfaces. Naughty Elsie Grey/ Black for sure.

Poor you and Elsie Grey.

I know that our first Lurcher, kerry, used to love coal and eat it - but she never lay in it - thank goodness!! Good luck at Crufts

Elsie Grey was back to 'grey' ready for Crufts....little madam If she qualifies again for next year, I will empty the fire place and have no open fires for at least a month before...even if it is cold and snowy!! Taking no chances, can't go through that one again!
