I have already posted about this but got no replies. I would have thought that more people would have read the article and made comments

We don't get that one. Will see if they have it in the shop tomorrow. We are off to Crufts tomorrow, so I'm sure they will be selling it there. You can see the cover here www.dogstodaymagazine.co.uk/ - do you know which dog they used? Rob

The dogs used are owned by Elaine Day and Nicola Bailey. The dogs are Pagan, Sunset and Magic. The article is aimed at people who do not know the breed. However, in the health section there is mention of Pseudoachondrodysplasia, which is retarded growth, something I never knew about.

Sorry Houndy, I bought it too after you mentioned it earlier. Very good read too, actually it's looking at me now! Nice to see Nicola and Elaine flying the flag for our hounds!

I have only had a quick look and think that everything that Elaine Day says is very true of the breed. As for the rest, well I've never heard of half of the problems and nor have most other people it seems and some of the requirements of the breed seem a bit suspect to say the least. Must have another look and read it properly.

I would consider it very, very rare. Not worth mentioning really - unless you're into extreme inbreeding.

More political propaganda from the anti dog movement which seems to be gaining ground by the day in the UK; where is this going to end for legitimate breeders and dog lovers in general? very

Hi Elvee, she's fine, I'm not that angry. Sal has had a week off work, annual leave, and has been so busy Spring cleaning and preparing for Crufts (cleaning my dogs it seems), that she hasn't had a lot of time to post on the forum, but fortunatly she has had time to make me a coffee a couple of mins ago. See you Thursday guess.

That article confirms my thoughts Richard, the end of the world is nigh if somebody (us) is paying people to produce incredibly interesting stuff like that.

surprisingly, I agree with Alan. I know Elaine Day quite well and she gives an acurate
discription of what it is like to live with a Deerhound. But, where the magazine got
it's information from on the health problems of the Deerhound god alone knows.

It's not very accurate and it would make me think twice about having a Deerhound if I was
new to the breed.
