Last night my lovely sweet feline Oscar passed away. Oscar was the best cat I have ever known. Kaja my sweet little geriatric Tortie was PTS on the 11th. We are now catless.
I got Kaja in 1991 from a cat refuge. She was so small. She was never very sociable and always hid when visitors came.
Oscar adopted us in 1992. Not sure how old he was but guessing somewhere between 6-12 months. I remember we did everything to scare him off but he chose us to share his life with. Oscar was such a character, very people orientated and very much like a dog. He also stood his ground even when being chased by a GSD. He had no fear. Both Kaja and Oscar reared 4 Deerhounds in their time, endured 3 house moves including one cross country where they nearly froze to death on the plane.
I will miss them so much and so grateful for being able to hold and comfort them at their end.
Just wish I could stop bursting into tears

So sorry to hear of this news. He sounds like he was such a character.

Sorry to hear you're sad news. I've had many cats and its always very sad when they pass on.

So sorry to hear this, I'm hoping at some point I can get a cat back in my life
When I separated I couldn't rent the cottage with the 2 cats as well as Leah, so my Mum and Dad took them in, and they are really well settled with them so I haven't the heart to uproot them again, they are aged 16 and 12 and both rescue cats.

Seeing how Leah was with MrsMC's cat Leo makes me hopeful we could have a cat.

I love cats, I miss them on the bed at night (dogs have never been allowed upstairs)

Yours sound like such great characters too, to be remembered with smiles when the tears pass

So sorry to hear news like that, especially at this time of year (or any other for that) what great ages they both lived to an that is down to the love and care you provided, they obviously had a great life with you.
