There are two new kittens at Taylor Acres, one boy and one girl. Any ideas for off the wall cat names gratefully received. We've previously had names like Huntington, Bangley and Coates (sisters named after a direction board on the old A1 near Haddington); Brigg and Bedlam, who were also sisters; and the current incumbent (female) is Wee Mad Arthur. You get the idea!

Oh you wonderful people, I knew I could rely on you. Nothing's set in stone yet, but Paxman and Stigma are current front runners. I really want to call the boy Bad Ass, but Phil's not having that.

We've had one called Asbo, unfortunately, it's a great name and we wasted it on a kitten who went to live in Pilton in Edinburgh. Come to think of it, it probably wasn't wasted.

Current favourites are Steerpike and Penfold.

Ok, we've decided: Steerpike and Miss Prunesqualor; although we both liked Escherichia and Coli and Stigma came close too. Photograph will follow as soon as I can get my act together to download them off the camera.

if that was the case our new kittens would be "bluearsed fly" and "leaf" instead of Chrissy (Christabel Matar) amd Cinda (Lucinda Jolie). Named by Sarah aged 4 who names everything in this house.

'Bluearsed Fly' would actually suit Steerpike quite nicely - he does a good impression of one. They're getting used to the dogs now and Miss Prunesqualor is acquiring IT skills - Phil says she sat on his lap all day yesterday while he was slaving over a hot computer.
