We lost one of our ferrets to a nasty illness over the weekend
But to stop our remaining fuzzy (Sabre) from getting too depressed and lonely, we called in at the local Ferret rescue and adopted a new little friend.

And here they are : with Sabre(left) , Clay(more) right.

Very sweet - I love ferrets and used to have 3. They can be very comical and ours used to love it when a towel was held by 2 people and you 'throw' the ferret on the towel - like a ferret bouncy castle

Swelling of stomach, loss of appetite, muscle wastage.
He just went really skinny apart from his pot belly.
Towards the end he had pain going to the loo.
Vet seem to think is was somekind of kidney/liver disorder.

We used to have 2, hubby used to take them out with the dogs, but God, did they stink! Their hutch had to be kept furthest from the house! Ours were called Funky and something else, can't remember, strange things, I never handled them incase they bit me!

yes they have got a very distinctive smell - you either love it or hate it - a bit like marmite

Thankfully I was never bitten but my husband was and it wasn't pretty
