What really gets my back up is dogs as fashion accessories I want to slap the airheads that think they can match a dog to their outfit and dump it when they change their dress.

No, I can cope with the airhead wee lassies with Chihuahuas in their handbags, because they may grow up eventually and get real dogs, but what really gets me is the numbers of young men in towns and cities who think that having an out of control, black leather harness-wearing, ill-mannered dog on the end of a lead makes them into instant hard men. They're wrong; it makes them look like complete numpties. Ultimately it's the poor dogs I feel sorry for, having to live with and depend on such idiots for everything.

People who see their dog as just a tool to be used and once its buggered either get rid or shoot it.

vets who exploit their clients - they dont care about the animal, just how much they can make.

Owners who treat their dogs as babys and never let them be dogs.
their scared of letting their dog near any other dog,
dont scocalise them properly, dont train them properly etc.

Dog trainers who exploit their clients, by stating they use only "purley possitive methods",
they need to get real and learn about dog training.

Theres probably a lot more i can think of lol, but will leave it at that for now.

I have a little unrest before the hunters.
In our region had shot a hunter a Golden Retriever, with the argument: "He had the dog confuses with a fox".
In Saxony might hunters shoot of dogs, if dogs hunt wild animals.
I have build 1,80 m (5.9 foot) high fence round our ground to security for our hounds.

People with dogs on extendable leads.......then let them wander over to you while you are walking yours and people that let their dogs pooh outside my house and don't pick it up.......I have been known to be on poop patrol and have gone out after quite a few, armed with bags, the look on their faces is priceless and also proves they don't usually pick it up.

I agree Jeorg that having one's dogs hunted would be extremely worrying. Yikes! I've always thought that deerhounds look enough like wolves (to the uninitiated, and also if they're moving quickly through forests) that a hunter might take a shot at them. Good idea building that high fence.

Personally I don't appreciate off lead dogs approaching us while we're on walks and mine are on leads. It causes my dogs to become defensive and go into attack mode - meaning I get whipped around and have to hold on for dear life. Highly irritating. If everyone is off lead it's a different story entirely as we're all at ease, but where I live leads are the law.

You're right about the hard men and their ill-mannered dogs Sid. I saw one the other day in the back of a pick-up truck - a huge staffie that had its ears cut off and very wide spiked collar round its neck. Think I'd faint if I met that thing on a walk!

people who cross breeds to make designer dogs then ask a fortune for them - no thought to what ill health may affect the dog in the future

snotty dog owners who think that their dog is perfect

dog owners who dont let their dogs socialise with other dogs - they pull them away as soon as they see another dog

people who dont/wont pick up their dogs poo or worse, pick it up then sling the bag into the hedge

breeders who breed just for the money
puppy farmers and the councils who issue the licence and dont monitor the kennels

people who dont take their dog to the vet when it is clear that the dog is suffering

much more but am tired and going to bed.......

Hey hey...dont blow it all in one day folks.....

People who breed dogs just for money, no idea about health or where the puppies will be going. Its causing huge problems for the rescue centres and of course all sorts of suffering for the dogs themselves.
Also people who have dogs but dont understand their needs - I once knew someone who treated his dog like a sheep - kept it outside 'on the grass' all day and wondered why it barked all the time!
Vets who overcharge and are dishonest...
I'll stop now before I get carried away!!

What about Show Judges who treat the average show person like they shouldnt be in the ring..and ignore them..or worse..OK so the professional breeder/shower will usually win a class..but without Joe Public to fund the event with their entry fees and gate ticket payments..a lot of these events could not continue..so come on Judges..sort your attitudes out..

My big complaint continues to be people who let dogs run wild and free in 'dog parks', without having them properly socialized first....trouble ready to happen...and please pick up after your dog..another one

Of course, and it has been mentioned before, people who are wreckless breeders, and / or breed for money. I've told people if you're making money at it, you're doing something wrong. I used to teach obedience classes to subsidize my dog expenses.
