I take it you mean the one on the right? It's Rab - Robert Burns, our national poet (and my several greats uncle.) 2009 is the 250th anniversary of his birth (on January 25th). Burns Suppers will be held. I'm excused attendance because of being family, but for those who like that sort of thing, they're very popular. Haggis and whisky are involved.

Blimey Sid, that must make you Scottish Royalty!

By the way, Spring says he'll take the Haggis but you can keep the Whisky

Scottish royalty? Moi? I don't think so! And despite having been brought up in a village where they make the stuff, I can't abide whisky. Blackwood's Scottish gin, though, is a horse of an entirely different colour. Look out for it; it's known round these parts as Taylor's Ruin.

My umpty-great grandpa on my mother's side was Gilbert Burns, Robert's younger brother. The really weird thing is that we've been told he used to live in our house back in the day. He and their mother are buried in Bolton kirkyard about three miles away. We drop by every few years to say hello.

Oh, and the haggis is mine, d'you hear? Mine! (Especially if it's a wee McSween.) However, if they've been very good, the dogs get haggis for dinner on their birthdays.

Gosh Sid, I had no idea we have been entertaining, near as damn it, royalty. I must
order a red carpet to roll out the next time you are here.

Babe, you ain't heard nothing yet. On my dad's side, I've got James Watt and Henry Raeburn, But hey, they're almost off the pedigree, so they don't really count.
