TOPIC: Snowy weather

Snowy weather 3 years, 3 months ago #5981

Hello to the northern hemishere. How are you coping with all the snow recently, particularly in the UK? It certainly looks bleak and cold on the news. It must be the year for extremes. Melbourne had a week of 40+ with the max getting up to 46 which was the hottest in over a hundred years.
Also in the US, it must be hard with all the power outages. I hope you are all safe and warm.

From a much milder Tassie

I think I prefer the cold to the heatwave that Australia is having at the moment.

Same here! Sam - I don't know how you cope in that heat. It must be what you get used to! We haven't had a lot of snow here in West Wales but the dogs enjoyed what we did have

Sam I just was reading about Tasmania and am awed by the beauty of the amazing place you call home. If only it weren't so far. Some day maybe.
From Snowy and cold Canada. Today it is sunny and -10C.

Well Monday Ididn't get to work, I am field based and couldn't risk driving anywhere, went yesterday, but snow showers forced me back home, went to Oxfordshire today, but have bought work home for the rst of the week as it looks like it is coming back again.

Daughter had to get to Gatwick airport Monday and we had a panic on our hands as all trains weren't running, M25 was in chaos, but she got there eventually and is now in sunny Perth, Australia, she has gone from one weather extreme to anothr, but I know where I would rathr be, in Perth!! Me loves the sun, I'd move there tomorrow if I could, just wondering how Murphy would take to getting on a plane, the car is bad enough....

Lurch, I'm glad your daughter got on her flight ok. After hearing that Heathrow had shut, I thought Gatwick would have as well. She will be having climate shock

Barb, Tassie is a lovely spot. Beautiful country side, laid back life style and affordable. It is a well guarded secret.
