For those of you who can't wait until Fossedata can get a decent signal, I've just received the top winners from Sue Rose, by the miracle of text.
Dog CC: Clanardwood Sovereign
DRCC: Gentiehun Tain (Sue's big daft laddie Rannoch, friend to all and one of the nicest people you could hope to meet). Cheers and promotions all round!
Bitch CC and BOB: Canerikie Cookie Crusher to Wildtor
BRCC: Hyndsight Who's That Girl
BP: Killoeter Pieris, sibling of Murph the Magnificent's Mara

Oh, I forgot to say that Betina Adams (our own Ardneish) was judging. Sorry!

Congratulations everyone. Very well done indeed.

We didn't see all the show as needed to retire towards the end to a local hostelry to recover. The joys of dealing with a 2 year old toddler (who was actually quite good) and two live wire teenage deerhounds!

Excellent wins Elise

PS This was our first time at this venue. My advice - double your travel time expectations!

Ah yes, well I remember that wriggly road between Chester and Builth Wells that ducks in and out of Wales. It was great fun in the Scooby.

Got a text from Sue at lunchtime saying simply "Rannoch got res CC" Understatement or what. There were LOADS of whoops of delight around sunny Barrhead, I tell you. I'm so delighted for the big laddy - our two's big cousin and the most gorgeous lump you could hope to meet.

I'm also delighted for Pieris. I don't know the owner, Mrs Duddell, but it's brilliant that Mara's litter siblings are all starting to show well. Congratulations to her, and to Nell for such a great litter.

Och that's just fantastic news too. Just gets better and better!

I love the pics of Charlotte with her wee whippet pal on the Claonaiglen website. Alan and Sally bred Lomond, my Murph and Mara's dad.

I was very disappointed there were no photos of the class winners and Reserve CC, winners, along with separate photos of the CC winners. And with respect to Sally who herself said she is no photographer, the photo’s (which I notice have been changed in the last few days), are of poor quality.

I feel let down for the exhibitors, I don’t think it at all fair that all the shows throughout the year have them, but not the SWKA class winners.

I so wished I had taken my camera into the ring with me, and am kicking myself for not having done, I have noticed that some all rounder do this, and I certainly will do it next time I judge.

It is a window for promotion of hounds, no doubt other soon to be judges go to the websites to look and I think it can influence perhaps?? Which is not a good thing. So maybe it is better to have no photos, rather than poor ones?? Food for thought??

The Irish Wolfhound Club I notice crop out the handlers when taking photo’s of winning hounds and placing them on their website, which I think is probably a good idea.

If anyone took photos at the show please can they contact me, so we may be able to put this situation right?? This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Here is the link Nat
www.deerhound.co.uk/SWKA2009/swka2009.htm

I noticed when I got home that the winning dog, also won the Limited show in 2008
so a link to that,( sorry I can,t seem to post the link think its my clipboard if someone else could that would be great)

I was really very pleased with all my class winners RCC winners and CC winners and it was so interesting to look their pedigrees up when I got home, what hidden genetic gems some of them are!
