Just had to tell about the show.
It started off as a very hot day. It cracked 40C in the shade at our place. The dogs coped remarkably well considering, Xena feeling it the most and spent the day under the bed.
Come evening the weather was still warm but nowhere near as hot. We went off to the show.
As the light began to fade the canine assoc put on a magnificent light show with incredible sheet lightening flashing across the sky. It was a continuous flashing and the thunder was rolling in. As we all lined up for group specials, the judge made the call to go inside due the closing fork lighting. No sooner had we got inside the heavens opened with hurricane force rain which blew in horizontally through the doors. I was standing easily 15m from the doors and was getting wet. The sound of the torrential rain and hail was deafening on the tin roof. You literally couldn't hear anything except for the rain. Large puddles had formed within seconds inside the building. It was just incredible. The storm front lasted for about 10 minutes.
Bree was remarkably calm throughout the whole ordeal. Other dogs were getting quite spooked from the noise.
Needless to say we got nowhere (except fot BOB as we were the only one there)
It was certainly an experience.
Who needs fireworks when nature puts on such a show?

Hi Sam,
we got that storm as well, looked on the radar it was HUGE.
Lighting 2 or 3 times a second, no I am not exaggerating.

I believe it! It was amazing and quite spectacular. Thank God the judge moved us or we would have been absolutely soaked to the skin in seconds.
The guys brave enough to close the western doors were saturated as the rain was driven in horizontally.
Poor Xena was a bit of a wreck when we got home. She doesn't like thunder and some of it was pretty close.

That sounded awesome, good how the Deerhounds are so calm in storms, mine don't bother either which is good as we are getting quite a few rolling through SE Queensland at present. They are very welcome though with the rain as we haven't had any for 6 months and have been putting off buying water on a week by week basis, now we have plenty!! but it is really humid and hot.......never mind it is Queensland.

I hope you are all o.k. and there were no major damage caused by the storm.
