Decided to take Layla to ring craft tonight,
after the inital excitment at seeing all the other dogs there,
she soon settled, once she realised she wasnt there to play
she got bored and just wouldnt do anything, at the start it was fine
and she would stand and cant even say jog round as the place wasnt big enough lol,
but after the first couple of times, she decided enough and stood stock still and wouldnt move,

How do i stop her getting bored - if i use treats she gets over excited and wont stand still
and bounce's around, the exeperance is good for her, as she realise's that not all dogs are
there to play with her, and she hopefully will learn to walk past other dogs with out wanting to rush up to them, but shes not getting a good experance if shes bored stiff,

on the plus side, she did let anyone go over her, with out trying to kiss them to death,
though she did give one bloke nibbles on his ear, but i think she was just after his
potato ash.

"How do i stop her getting bored?"

Hello Chook I don't know how old Layla is nor how long the ring craft classes are but I will say generally, that a young doggie will find a one hour class too long and in that case it's a good idea to simply leave at the half hour mark, or perhaps sit at ringside with Layla so she can continue to soak up the atmosphere but without the continued stress of the ring. The thing is to keep taking her to class, week after week if possible, and she'll learn to like it. Also she may make some friends at the class and that will cause her to want to stay.

I love how she simply froze in place and refused to move when she'd had enough! What a little character she is. Certainly knows how to make her point. Seems as though she's doing everything else right so really, no worries I'd say.

shes 18 months old now.

The classes are long about an hour and half, we only stayed about an hour,
unfortunaly with this ring craft class, most dont mix, you can see it as
you walk in, the collies sit with the other collies, the terriers sit with the terriers and so on, although we did meet a couple with there salukis, but as usual all 3 were nervous so were a bit frightend of Layla, i did go with a friend and her borzoi - so hopefully Layla will
settle more with mims being there.

She is a character alright, at the start of the evening she anounced to everyone she was there
by woofing at them all, i presume she was asking why's no one playing lol.

Layla is a bright girl. I would continue with the treats but let her know she needs to calm down a bit before she gets one. Daisy used to be the same and I just used to say "steady" and stop until she understood. (obviously can't do that at a show).

Its better to have them full of fun than to have to drag them around. She'll be fine, she is still very young. It's a shame you can get down to our sunday ringcraft. It is less formal and perfect for layla.
