Who, from the forum, is going to the Deerhound club UK Breed show?

Perhaps we could all meet up (in the bar preferably or in Elvee's naughty corner).

I am going with my daughter Charlotte, three Deerhounds and probably Charlottes darned whippet.

If you feel up to doing a lambing, you can surely manage the breed show!

Watford - Dunblane? No, I won't be going this year, shame as I am sure there are a good few of us on here that would have liked to meet.

Alan, I would much rather spend time with those baby lambs, if you have any orphans send em my way, it's been fifteen years since I bottle fed a baby!!!!

Perhaps we can all try and have a get together at an England show, summer would be good, we could all have a big picnic!!!

We will be going with Callie and Fergal (me, Sue and Robert). We are driving up to
Scotland early in the week and making a holiday of the event.

Hi - I am fairly new deerhound owner and would like to go to the Dunblane show - when is it? and is it ok to bring pups to it - mine is 5 1/2 months at the moment?

If you want to enter your puppy in the puppy class at the Breed Show, you have to be a member of the Deerhound Club, which can take time, oops just temembered I haven't renewed mine

Sorry Lurch you're wrong there. You don't have to be a member to enter the Open show.

Cathode, the show is being held at the Dublane Hydro Hotel. The dates are 17 -19 April,
On Friday the club hold their AGM and there is a meal and some sort of entertainment in
the evening. Saturday is show day and then Saturday night is the meal and trophy presentation
(Most people wear evening attire) and then Sunday morning there are more showing classes and
then we all go home.

The schedules are not out yet but I would keep an eye on the Deerhound club UK website.

We are taking the caravan to Stafford and Bournemouth this summer. Youre all welcome to come back to us for a picnic! Both sites are just next door to the shows.

p.s Alan it isn't the Van that caught fire on the motorway it's a new one!

I will be there with a good friend (no Deerhound owner, but a big fan of Scotland).

Thursday and Friday we will be in Edinburgh and arrive in Dunblane late Friday evening, around 10 is planned. But I think 10 is not that late for a Friday evening and I hope somebody will still be awake then:lol: !

Sunday, after the show, we will start a tour trough the Hghlands for some days.

It really would be great to meet some members of the forum there!

Too far for us I am afraid
Do pups have to be 6 months and over to be entered into a show?
We will certainly be attending some of the shows in England and Wales this year - would be great to meet up with forum members

Have checked with Nell, definately do not have to be members to enter open show. You do
have to be club members to enter the limit show. A puppy has to be 6 months old on the
first day of the show to be eligible for entry into puppy classes.

I have not had a schedule yet, so keep an eye on Deerhound club website.

These are the details for anyone who wants to book rooms at the hotel.

Breed show date is 17-19 April 2009
Dunblane Hydro, Dunblane, Perthshire, FK15 0HG
Reservations Tel: 01786 825551
Fax: 01786 825403
Contact the events organiser www.dunblanehydrohotel.com

Rates: Inclusive of accommodation, breakfast and dinner - £170.00 per person (Fri-Sun).
£130.00 (Fri-Sat). Single night £95.00.
All rates are for joint room occupancy.

When you book state it is for the Deerhound club breed show.

Sally, why do you say Charlottes 'darned whippet'?

Cos she is so naughty, and was it a film or a song, that darned cat. She also gets called
'Ells Bells. Her real name is Elegante or Ellie for short.
