Any tips for this? We have a dog who's just started to pace every so often - I think they're just wanting to take it easy. I try now to start off at a fast pace to get them going then slow down to our normal speed hoping that they slow down into a trot not pacing gait. Any other suggestions?

Orrin's mother, Cara, also paced. I found getting her away quick, as you are doing worked. Sometimes it helps to stack your dog not facing in the direction you are going to set off in because by turning them it knocks them out of the pacing stride. Good luck.

That's a problem I've had with Tess. Sometimes a discreet tug of the lead or a bump works, faster too. But some times it seems that nothing helps. I start off with a courtesy turn and that doesn't help. If I can I stop and begin over. And sometimes she's just fine. Seems a bit of a crap shoot.
